The Village of Hughenden offers it’s citizens and visitors to the area a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Below are just a few of the recreational facilities and attractions available in and around Hughenden.

 This excellent and impressive facility is located some 200 km east of Edmonton on Highway #13. From Wainwright proceed south on Highway #41 to #13, west 12 kilometres to Hughenden.The Hughenden Golf Course has been in existence since 1915 and has undergone many improvements over the years. This friendly course is noted for its excellent grass greens and offers well groomed fairways with grass bunkers challenging golfers with a sometimes difficult lie. “It’s a fairly easy course to play if you stay out of trouble.”The par 4, 410 yard, 3rd hole is rated as the number one handicap hole. The course features a driving range and practice green as well as a licensed concession. A unique feature of this course is that you must cross the provincial Highway twice. The course rating from the Blue tee is 67.1 with a slope of 104; the course rating from the White tee is 65.8 with a slope of 102.

 The Lion’s Playground

 

The Lion’s Playground is located on Main Street beside the Hughenden and District Community Hall.

The Hughenden Bowling Center

The Hughenden Bowling Center is on Cochran Street and is attached to the area.

Camping is available next to the Devonian Park across from the Credit Union downtown. There are six plug-ins and water available. Contact the Village Office for costs. An RV park is also available at the Hughenden Golf Club.
