Pets: Although our pets are our best friend we also need to be concerned with the safety of your pet and other residents in town.
Our Animal Control Bylaw is such that you require a tag for your pet. And we take a picture to help ID them in case they stray away for a short time.
A Pet catcher may fine a pet running at large or remove it to shelter if it is not tagged.
Tags are available at the Village Office. PLEASE SEE THE 2015 ANIMAL BYLAW REVISIONS WHICH ARE LOCATED ON THE GOVERNMENT PAGE OF THIS SITE.
Fire Permits: many people enjoy having a fire pit or place in their back yard.
The Village Fire By law requires a permit for fire pit, fire place or open fire.
Please see the Village Office for more information.
Cemetery: Lots can be purchased at the Village Office.
Copies: The Village will do copies or fax your messages for you at a minimal cost. Incoming faxes may be received here at a cost per page. The Village Fax Line is 780-856-2034.
Camping: For your friends, camping is available next to the Devonian Park across from the Credit Union down town. There are six plug-ins and water available. Contact the Office for costs.
An RV park is also available at the Hughenden Golf Club.
Recycling: Cell phones, glasses, ink cartridges and Campbell soup labels are all collected at the Village Office.
Community Information: Please see the bulletin boards in these locations:
– the Post Office
– the Lion’s park Bulletin Board
– as well as the Village Office boards.
